Ballet Recital
Today was Alexia's year-end ballet recital. There is nothing cuter than a little girl dressed in a pink tutu! My goodness, you just want to eat them!! She was so proud to be performing for her family and friends and was completely thrilled when her teacher gave her her own flower at the end of the show.
Alexia, you are so, so sweet and truly the best ballerina in the world!

Cara-Li's BD Party
Finally, we got around to celebrating Cara-Li's 9th birthday and with her cast off! Yay! We decided to have a Mosaic Madness party. This is where you hire someone, J, and she comes to your house with all the stuff necessary to make beautiful mosaic mirrors that the kids got to keep of course and hang in their rooms. Truly beautiful pieces of works were created by these talented artists but it did not come easy. They really had to work hard for their cake and ice cream sundae bar! For the mommies, all we had to do was help out a little but that didn't stop us from going into the kitchen for a little sip of wine now and again!
After the party, a quick change and we were off to a potluck party that were invited to. In fact, these are our new neighbors at our new house. We didn't know who they were but our friends N and S do and they got us invited. They figured that we should meet sooner than later! Great idea. Now we know who we will be sharing our garbage path with :) Great couple with great daughters. I smell some new babysitters....

A little surprise visit
We had a last minute visit from our favorite cousins from Ontario this weekend and the kids were thrilled! Unfortunately, Cara-Li was away at a sleepover birthday party on Saturday night but that didn't stop the rest of us from enjoying their presence. We went out for a late afternoon stroll and early dinner in Chinatown. It was great fun, I must say. We did a little shopping and for a little moment, I felt like I was in China again! If only...
Now the reason for their visit was to go to the cabane à sucre which here in Quebec is a very serious event. I have to go at least once a year to get my fill of every maple syrup and then I am good for quite some time. Same this year. I over-indulged and that I was going to explode the entire day. After lunch, we went for a horse-drawn carriage ride around the property, followed by a petting farm and a bunch of other great activities. Thanks N, C and D for visiting us and for making this an extra special weekend! See you again soon!
